Nell's Chocolate Pie
1 small box chocolate pudding mix (NOT INSTANT)
2 cups milk
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 egg yolks (save whites for meringue)
1 Tbs. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1- 9" baked pie shell
Mix pudding mix, milk, brown sugar, and egg yolks in medium
sauce pan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Remove
from heat; add butter and vanilla. Pour into pie shell, top
with meringue
and bake at 350 deg. until golden brown.
Meringue
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3 Tbs. sugar
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
Add sugar and beat well. Top pie and bake.
