For Anna
Rather than wait for Bisquick to come in to your store, have you ever tried making your own? Yu can use this exactly as you would Bisquick.

Bisquick Alike
6 cups all-purpose flour (not self-rising flour)
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup vegetable shortening

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt three times into large bowl, then cut in shortening with a pastry blender or a couple knives, until mixture resembles fine crumbs.

You can store this mixture in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to four months. You can use this mixture whenever Bisquick (or biscuit mix) is called for, and it measures exactly the same.

I have not bought Bisquick for several years since I got this recipe.
