For the lady who wanted trifles:
Chocolate Banana Trifle
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup evaporated fat-free milk
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup Kahlua
16 oz ready-made angel food cake, cut into cubes
2 1.4 oz toffee bars, chopped (heath or Skor)
3 cups fat-free milk
3 pkg. (3.4 oz each) vanilla instant pudding
2 cups sliced bananas, divided
12 oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a
boil. Cook until sugar is dissolved and mixture is thick,
about 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; stir
in Kahlua. Cool. Combine chocolate mixture and cake cubes in
a large bowl. Stir in chopped candy, reserving 1 tbsp for
topping. Set aside. Beat milk and pudding mix at medium
speed of a mixer until well blended. Stir in cake mixture.
Cover; chill 15 minutes. Spoon half of cake mixture in a
trifle bowl. Arrange half of banana slices over cake. Top
with half of Cool Whip. Repeat layers; end with Cool Whip.
Sprinkle with reserved 1 tbsp candy. Chill 1 hour. Serves
16.
