Chocolate Pound Cake

l pkg. (18.25 oz.) chocolate fudge cake mix or devil's food cake mix
l pkg (3.9ounces) chocolate instant pudding mix
l cup sour cream
l/2 cup water
l/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
l and l/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Vegetable oil spray for misting the pan and flour for dusting the pan.
Place the cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, oil, water and eggs in a large mixing bowl.

Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for one minute, turn off mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl and then increase the mixer speed to medium and beat 3 minutes more.

The batter should look thick and well combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are distributed evenly.

Place on rack in the center of the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 58 to 62 minutes.

Cake should spring when when lightly pressed and starting to pull away from the sides.

Cool completely and then frost with the following:
Place in pan l cup granulated sugar, 5 tablespoons butter and l/3 cup whole milk.

Stir until mixture comes to a boil and still stirring let the mixture boil until the sugar dissolves.
Remove the pan from heat and stir in:
l cup chocolate chips.

Spread the icing, after it cools a bit, over the cool cake. Frosting thickens as it cools This is a TNT recipe. It was served to our ladies group at a special meeting at my church.
