Coconut Chews

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 pkg (18.25 oz) white cake mix
1/4 cup milk
1 can (3-1/2 oz) flaked coconut
1 jar (12-1/4 oz) caramel topping
1/4 cup flour

In a large bowl, cut butter into cake mix until fine crumbs form. Carefully stir in milk. Mixture will be crumbly (do not overmix). Reserve 1 cup mixture. Firmly pat remaining mixture into greased 9" x 13" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees 15 minutes. Top with coconut. Combine caramel topping and flour; heat through.
