Hot Dog Sloppy Joes
8 hot dogs
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup celery, finely chopped
2 8(8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons corn starch
1/2 cup chili sauce (found in groceries
near the ketchup)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 hamburger buns
Slice hot dogs into 1/8 inch circles.
Set aside. Place the butter in a large
skillet and add the onion. Saute until
the onion is transparent. Add the celery
and continue to cook until the largest
pieces of celery are tender and soft.
Stir the cornstarch into the tomato
sauce until it is completely dissolved.
Add to the onion and celery mixture.
Stir int the chili sauce, salt, pepper
and sliced hot dogs.
Cook over low heat for 25 minutes or
until thickened. Stir frequently to
prevent sticking.
Serve by placing spoonfuls between
heated hamburger buns.
