Applesauce Cake

1 1/2 Cups applesauce
1 tsp baking soda (stirred in applesauce)
1 Cup sugar
1/3 Cup shortening
raisins to suit taste (up to 1 cup)
2 Cups flour
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 pinch of salt

Cream sugar, shortening, spices and salt together. Add applesauce and baking soda and mix well. Add flour and raisins and mix. Bake in greased cake tin for 30-45 minutes at 350,
