Richard, Cripple Creek, Co., this is a good recipe for cooking monkfish, but my Dh and I didn't think it tasted like lobster very much. Oh! enjoy your snow! My Dad and Jeanne live in Denver and my son and brother and families live in Colorado Springs. We moved way south to get away from all of that! We have had this dish and it was good, but not lobster. You could fix monk fish like most any white fish, though. T & T

Monk Fish (Poor Man's Lobster)

1 gallon water
1/2 cup salt
3/4 cup Sugar
monk fish, Halibut or cod, cut in chunks

Mix together first three ingredients in a large pot and bring to a hard, rolling boil.
Add fish, being careful not to crowd the pot. Fish is done when it floats, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain in a colander. Serve with melted butter and lemon juice. Marilynn chief_cook2 listed under Fish on Nancy's message board.
