Lean and Mean Pasta Skillet
tablespoon olive oil
1 pound turkey sausage, casing
1 yellow bell pepper, diced
1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes, not
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black
1 pound whole grain angel hair pasta
tablespoons chopped fresh basil
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat; cook
sausage, bell pepper, and garlic 5 to 7 minutes, or
until meat is browned, breaking up meat as it cooks.
Stir in tomatoes, salt, and pepper, and simmer 10 to 15
Meanwhile, cook pasta according to
package directions. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
Stir the basil into the sauce and serve over the pasta.
Who doesn't like a sprinkle of Parmesan
cheese over most any pasta dish?! And if you like your
sausage a little spicier, feel free to use hot turkey
