Oven Baked French Toast with Strawberries






Oven Baked French Toast with Strawberries

1 small loaf of day old French bread
6 T. brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 T. sugar
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. frozen strawberries
1/2 c. flour

Grease 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Cut bread diagonally into 1-inch slices. Place in dish, set aside. In medium bowl, lightly beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Stir in milk until well blended. Pour mixture over bread, turning slices to coat well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Heat oven to 375°. In small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Turn bread slices over. Scatter chopped up strawberries over bread and top (sprinkle) with crumb mixture. Bake about 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares and top with more strawberries.
