Janis asked about lime deposits on shower doors. We found that spraying WD-40 works great! Just spray it on a dry door and wipe it around. No more deposits :-)

This is for Janis who wanted to know how to clean her shower door, if it is a glass door smooth or textured I use baby oil on a soft cloth and it looks like new . Hope it works for you.

Do try putting "CLR" (Calcium, Lime, Rust) in a spray bottle, and let us know how great that worked !

Hi, this is Robin. I am a long time member of NancyLand. For the past four years I have been working as a nurse in South Africa on a church mission. A couple of days ago I wrote Nancy to let her know I was back. She asked me if I still had all my  tried and tested recipes using sugar substitutes. I do so I am sharing the with all the NancyLanders out there that might want them. There are more if anyone is interested.

It is great to be back in the US. Where I was in South Africa there was little news what has been going on in the world. Boy what a change. What surprises me the most is the cost of foods in the grocery stores. It is going to take a while to get use to all the changes.

Lemon Meringue Pie Using Splenda

2-1/4 c. water
1/2 c. lemon juice
1 1/2 c. Splenda
1/3 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 eggs
2 egg whites
2 Tbsp. margarine
9-inch pie pastry

Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3 1/2 tsp. Splenda

Bake pie crust for 10 minutes at 425°, until lightly browned. Pierce pie crust with fork before baking to remove all air (sides and bottom). Cool.

Mix water, lemon juice, Splenda and cornstarch in medium pan. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat; stir constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Beat 2 eggs and 2 egg whites in a small bowl; stir in about 1/2 of the hot cornstarch mixture. Stir egg mixture back into cornstarch mix in saucepan; cook and stir over low heat 1 minute. Remove; add margarine. Stir. (Add 1 to 2 drops yellow food coloring, if desired.) Pour mixture into baked pie shell.

Meringue: Beat egg whites in medium bowl until foamy with electric mixer; add cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in Splenda. Beat until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over hot lemon filling, careful to seal edge of crust with egg meringue to prevent shrinking. Bake pie at 425° until meringue browns, about 5 minutes; watch carefully. Cool completely on wire rack.
