Black Bottom Cake Recipe
Serves 10

Ingredients:
1 pkg. cream cheese, 8 oz
1 egg
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/8 t. salt
1 pkg. chocolate chips, 6 oz
1 t. baking soda
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 t. vanilla extract
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil
1 T. distilled white vinegar

Directions:
In large bowl, mix cream cheese, egg, 1/2 cup of the sugar, salt and chocolate chips; set aside. In another large bowl, mix the remaining 1 cup sugar, baking soda, flour, cocoa, vanilla, water, oil and vinegar; pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture into the chocolate cake mixture. Bake at 350 til a toothpick inserted comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes.

Broccoli Raisin Salad Recipe

Ingredients:
1 red onion
1 (16-ounce) package fresh broccoli florets
1 (3.75-ounce) package sunflower kernels
1 cup golden raisins
1 cup mayonnaise
4 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Directions:
Cut onion into thin slices; cut onion slices in half.

Stir together onion, broccoli, and remaining ingredients. Cover and chill at least 2 hours before serving.

I have several brisket recipes, and this is one that we like. It is a Taste Of Home recipe.

Texas Style Beef Brisket Recipe

1 beef brisket (6 lb.)

Sauce Ingredients
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 bay leaves
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. celery salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 cup beef broth

Directions
Combine all sauce ingredients, and place in a resealable plastic bag, with the brisket. Refrigerate overnight. Next day place in a 5-6 qt. slow cooker and cook on low 6-8 hours or until tender.

Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. ground mustard

Directions
Saute onion in cooking oil until tender. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute. Stir in remaining ingredients and heat through. Remove brisket from slow cooker, discard bay leaf. Place 1 cup cooking liquid in measuring cup, and add to barbecue sauce. Discard remaining juice. Return brisket to slow cooker, top with sauce mixture. Cover and cook on high 30 more minutes.

Brickle Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 pkg. (6 oz.) Bits O'Brickle, divided
1 container (8 oz.) non-dairy whipped topping
1 (9 inch) graham cracker pie crust

Directions
In a deep bowl, using mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar and milk. Add 3/4 cup Bits O'Brickle; fold in whipped topping. Spoon into pie crust. Sprinkle remaining Bits O'Brickle over filling. Freeze about 4 hours before serving. Makes 10-12 servings.

Ice Cream and Candy Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 pint coffee ice cream, softened
1 (9 inch) baked chocolate pie crust or crust of your choice
1 (7 oz.) can almond toffee candy or 1 (6 oz.) Bits 'O Brickle
3/4 c. hot fudge ice cream topping
1 qt. vanilla ice cream, softened
Whipped cream or Cool Whip

Directions
Spoon coffee ice cream into pie crust, spreading evenly. Cover and freeze until firm.
Place candy in plastic bag. Crush with rolling pin. (Not necessary if you use Bits 'O Brickle.)
Spread fudge topping evenly over coffee ice cream. Sprinkle with 1 cup crushed candy. Spoon vanilla ice cream over top, spreading evenly. Spread whipped cream or Cool Whip and remaining crushed candy on top. Freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.

Chocolate Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons powdered cocoa
4 teaspoons sugar
1/3 cup Shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons cold water

Directions
Sift together flour, salt, powdered cocoa and sugar.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives until the mixture has the consistency of cornmeal and small peas.
Stir together vanilla extract and cold water. Gradually sprinkle enough of this over the flour mixture to dampen it. Blend with a fork. Place the dough on wax paper; lift the paper all around the dough and knead while holding the paper until the dough shapes into a ball. Then let it stand for 15 minutes.
Roll out the dough and fit it loosely into a pie pan. Do not stretch it. Flute the edge. Fill to taste. Or bake as a pie shell in a preheated 425 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool.

Cashew Rice Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups rice
3 tablespoons cashews, roasted and powdered
salt to taste
2 tablespoons dry grated coconut
pinch of turmeric powder
pinch of asafoetida
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
2 red chillies
2 tablespoons oil
few coriander leaves

Directions
Heat oil. Add mustard seeds, red chillies and asafoetida. Next add the cooked rice and the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves. Serves 8.

Chicken A La King Recipe

Ingredients
1/4 cup margarine or butter
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1 small green pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
3 tablespoons dry sherry
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 cups milk
3 tablespoons corn starch
1/2 cup sliced pimientos
8 ounces wide egg noodles, cooked and drained

Directions
In large skillet melt margarine over medium heat. Add mushrooms, green pepper and onion; stirring frequently, cook 3 minutes. Add chicken, sherry, bouillon, salt and pepper. Stir milk and corn starch until smooth; add to skillet. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 1 minute. Stir in pimientos. Serve over egg noodles.
Serves 6.

Crock Pot Red Beans and Rice Recipe

Ingredients
1 pound red kidney beans, soaked overnight in water
1 1/2 cups brown rice
16 ounces stewed tomatoes
1 ham hock, optional
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon thyme
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
white pepper, to taste
salt to taste
1/2 cup white wine, optional
cayenne to taste, optional

Directions
Put everything in the crock pot at the same time, except for the rice. Turn on high for 4 hours, then on low for 6 hours. During the last 1 1/2 hour, put in the rice. The final ingredient is about 1/2 cup of white wine. Add cayenne to taste if desired.

Crock Pot King Ranch Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
3 to 4 cups cooked, diced chicken
1 10 to 12 count package flour tortillas
1 medium onion, chopped
2 10 ounce cans cream of chicken soup
1 can tomatoes and chilies
4 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca
4 cup grated Cheddar cheese

Directions
In a large bowl mix chicken, soup, tomatoes, chilies and tapioca. Rip 2 to 3 tortillas into pieces and line the bottom of a 5 quart crockpot. Add 1/3 of the chicken mixture; top with 1/3 of the onion and cheese. Repeat layers of tortillas, chicken mixture, onion and cheese two more times. Cover; cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 hours. For a smaller 3 quart crockpot makes 1/2 recipe.

Crock Pot BBQ Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients
6 pork chops
1 teaspoon fat
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon accent
2 large onions, sliced very thin
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon accent
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions
Use a 5 quart crockpot. Place fat in crockpot and melt on high. Add meat and turn to coat with fat. Season meat with mixture of last 3 ingredients. Add all other ingredients. Cook on low for 8 to 9 hours.

Crock Pot BBQ Pork Ribs Recipe

Ingredients
Pork Ribs Country Style

2 pounds pork country style ribs
1 cup ketchup
8 ounces cola, Coke, Dr. Pepper

Ingredients
Combine ketchup and cola. Place ribs in crockpot. Pour cola mixture over ribs. Cook 2 hours on high and cook several hours on low but at least for 2 hours. Baste occasionally if desired.
Serves 8.

Crock Pot Pork and Beans Recipes

Ingredients
1 pound hamburger, cooked and drained
1 medium onion, chopped
salt
pepper
garlic salt
2 cans pork and beans
1/2 cups brown sugar
2 cups tomato soup
1 cup ketchup

Directions
MIx all in crock and cook 4 to 6 hours on low.
