Buttermilk Rye Bread Recipe

Ginger, welcome to the "sky's the limit" world of bread making. Over the years I have had a number of Bread Makers and have found that they are all very much the same. My current one in use is one of the two paddle affairs which nowadays is used mostly for kneading and jam making. Don't be put off by the occasional "brick" as there is a learning curve to bread making either by hand or machine. Touch is the key. Initially watch and prod the goings on in your machines' kneading cycle, obviously once the rising process starts keep the lid closed.
Another recipe for Rye Bread, which is my current trend - this one comes from Nancy's Message Boards where there are 200 excellent recipes for Bread.

1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
