Julie's Buttermilk Pie Recipe

Ingredients
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 stick margarine
3 T. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 deep dish pie shell

Directions
Separate eggs. Beat egg whites and set aside. Mix sugar, buttermilk, margarine, flour, vanilla, salt and egg yolks, adding yolks last. Fold in whites, not completely. Bake at 350 degrees until solid and golden brown. Test with a knife.

Chess Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 stick butter, melted
3 eggs
1 T. corn meal
1 T. cider vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pie shell, prebaked a little

Directions
Mix sugar and butter. Add corn meal, vinegar and vanilla. Add unbeaten eggs. Mix well. Pour into pie crust. Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Makes 1 pie.

Crisco Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients
2 c. flour
2/3 heaping c. Crisco
1/4 c. water
1/4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt

Directions
Make paste out of 1/3 cup flour and water. Combine 1 2/3 cup flour, baking powder and salt in bowl; cut in Crisco. Add paste and cut into mixture.

Egg Custard Pie

Ingredients
4 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 c. milk, scalded

Directions
Combine all ingredients, mix with fork and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 30 minutes more.

Lemon Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 C lemon juice
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 sm can evaporated milk
1 baked 9" pie shell
3 egg whites
6 T sugar

Directions
Mix first four ingredients together and turn into pie shell. Make mirrange by stiffly beating egg whites with a little cream of tartar and then adding sugar 1 T at a time. Frost pie with mixture and bake in hot oven until brown. Refrigerate.
