Old Fashioned Ice
4 c. milk
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 T. flour
pinch of salt
1/2 gal. whole milk
2 T. vanilla
In a sauce pan, scald milk. In a double boiler, mix sugar, flour and salt. Add
slightly beaten eggs and scalded milk to flour - sugar mix. cook over hat water
10 minutes, stirring constantly at first. when cooked, add 1/2 gallon of milk.
Add vanilla. Stir and then pour into ice-cream freezer and turn until thickened.
