Creamed Kale and Onions Recipe
1 1/2 lb. kale, cleaned
2 lbs. small white onions, peeled (12)
1/4 c. shortening
3 T. flour
1 1/2 cup vegetable liquid or milk
Cook kale in boiling salted water, 15 min. or
Cook onions in boiling salted water, 15 min.
Drain and save
vegetable liquid. Combine vegetables.
Make white sauce of shortening, flour,
milk, salt & pepper.
Pour over kale and onions
Makes 6 Servings
