Wilted Lettuce Recipe
My mother just chopped up iceberg lettuce and green onions fine! Then she would cook about 1/2 bacon take it out and drain it on a paper towel! She would then heat the bacon grease until it just started to smoke, then she would pour it over the lettuce and onions! This was usually served with pinto beans and hot cornbread! It was delicious!
Also my oldest brother would drizzle just a little buttermilk over his!  This was some good eating back in the days!
