Pork Chops And Sauerkraut Recipe

6- (3/4 in. thick) pork chops, loin cut with bone
1- T. olive oil
2- (27oz.) cans sauerkraut
2- lg. jars brown gravy
1- med. onion, chopped
1- 8oz. pkg. fresh mushrooms,cut into pieces
1- tsp. salt
1- tsp. pepper
1- T. garlic, minced

In a skillet, brown pork chops in oil, set aside. In the oil, saute onions, mushrooms, salt, pepper and garlic. Add gravy, heat to boil, remove from heat, set aside. Put sauerkraut in colander and rinse with water, drain well. When drained, put sauerkraut into a 9 x 13" pan, add gravy mixture to sauerkraut, mix well. Reserve some gravy for later. Spread saurekraut and gravy mixture over bottom of pan. Place pork chops on top of mixture and top each chop with a spoonful of gravy. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
Serves 4 - 6 Servings
