This recipe is about 100 years old or more (came from my Mom's mother's sister Annie; my Mom is 89 yrs. old). Didn't get instructions from her. Simple but very good!

Annie's Molasses Cake

1/2 cup lard (Crisco, etc. will work)
1/2 cup sugar
Cream together.

2 eggs
3/4 cup molasses
2 tsps. baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour
1/8 tsp. salt

1 cup boiling water
Big handful of raisins
Cook done; cool until lukewarm.

Bake at 350 degrees (no time given; check after 30 mins.).
