For Jae in Central, OK--- I saw your comments about Ranch
Style Beans for your daughters and thought you might like
the "Houston's" restaurant Bar B Q beans. I got into the
kitchen there one time and was amazed at how similar the
recipe is to all other Bar B Q beans but has that distinct
Ranch Flavor. When I smoke a brisket or a slab of ribs I
always have these.
Houston's Bar B Q Beans
4 slices bacon, chopped and fried crisp
1 large onion, chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cans Ranch Style Beans (26oz)
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup ketchup
Saute the onions in the bacon grease until limp. Mix all
together and pour into a Pyrex dish. Bake in a 250 F oven
for one hour.
Hope you enjoy, Jim in Texas
