Almond Butter Cookies

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour

Icing:
1 Tbsp. soft butter
1/8 tsp. almond extract
1 c. powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. milk

In mixing bowl, cream together sugar, butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract. Beat until smooth. Stir together flour and baking powder, then add it to creamed mixture. Chill dough 1 hour or until firm. Dough may then be either forced through cookie press or rolled and cut into shapes. Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet in 375 degrees oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Frost cut out cookies with powdered sugar icing.

Powdered Sugar Icing: Mix butter, almond extract and powdered sugar. Add milk until icing can be spread.
