Return to recipes using buttermilk.

I make this in quantity, pack in pretty jars with the recipe and put into gift baskets.

Ranch Dressing and Seasoning Mix
This similar to Hidden Valley's Ranch Dressing and Seasoning mix and equals approximately 1 bottle of salad dressing mix

1/2 cup dry buttermilk*
1 tablespoon dried parsley, crushed
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend at high speed until smooth. (I simply mix together with a fork and leave the chunks)

Combine 1 tablespoon mix with 1 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup milk for salad dressing.

Otherwise, use 1 tablespoon in any recipe calling for an envelope of ranch dressing mix.

* Powdered buttermilk does not have to be mixed separately. I just add the powder with my flour and the water with the my other liquids and let it mix in the batter.
