Return to recipes using buttermilk.


Jo Ann's Buttermilk Salad

20 oz. can pineapple
1/4 cup sugar
6 oz. orange Jell-O
2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup chopped nuts
8 oz. whipped topping (Cool Whip, etc.)

Cook sugar and undrained pineapple until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and add the Jell-O, stirring until Jell-O is dissolved. Cool. Stir in buttermilk and nuts. Stir until well mixed. Fold in whipped topping, mixing well. Pour in a 9 X 13" dish. Refrigerate until cold before serving.

* Powdered buttermilk does not have to be mixed separately. I just add the powder with my flour and the water with the my other liquids and let it mix in the batter.
