Return to recipes using buttermilk.

Six Week Bran Muffins

1 (15 ounce) box Raisin Bran
1 cup corn oil
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
4 eggs, beaten
1 quart buttermilk*
4 cups white flour
1 cup wheat flour (or bran)
5 teaspoons soda
2 teaspoons salt

Mix dry ingredients in large bowl; mix well. Store in refrigerator in covered container. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

* Powdered buttermilk does not have to be mixed separately. I just add the powder with my flour and the water with the my other liquids and let it mix in the batter.
