Return to recipes using buttermilk.

Strawberry Buttermilk Salad

16 to 20 ounce can crushed pineapple
1 large family sized package of strawberry Jell-O
1 (8 oz.) container of Cool Whip
2 cups buttermilk*
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 cup fresh sliced strawberries.

Bring pineapple and juice to slow boil. Add Jell-O. Mix well and cool. Add buttermilk*, Cool Whip and nuts. Stir strawberries.  Put into mold and refrigerate until set.   .

* Powdered buttermilk does not have to be mixed separately. I just add the powder with my flour and the water with the my other liquids and let it mix in the batter.
