Cabbage and Apple Recipe

1 small red cabbage head
1 small green cabbage head
1/2 c. brown sugar
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 c. butter
1 c. minced green pepper
1 c. bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
nutmeg to taste
4 medium size apples

Grind red/green cabbage, separately. Season red cabbage with salt and pepper. Place in greased casserole. Dot with 1/2 of butter. Add sugar, juice and nutmeg to chopped apples; mix well. Place on red cabbage. Mix green cabbage, pepper, salt and peppers. Place over apples. Dot with butter; cover with crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6..
