Cabbage Slaw with Boiled Dressing
1 lg. head of cabbage, shredded
1 lg. onion, sliced
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. white vinegar
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. salt
1 c. salad oil
Place cabbage and onion in layers in a large bowl. Sprinkle with sugar. Do not
stir. In a saucepan combine all ingredients for dressing, except salad oil.
Bring to a boil. Add salad oil and bring to boil again. Pour dressing over
cabbage and onions. Do not stir. Refrigerate 24 hours. Mix when ready to serve.
