German Chocolate Cake
4 eggs, separated
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 pkg. German sweet chocolate
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Beat egg whites and set aside. Melt chocolate in 1/2 cup boiling
water and add to cake batter; stir well. Fold in beaten egg whites
last. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 2 layers.
