Great
Marinating Tips for Grilling
By Pam Aran
One of the key secrets to having great
tasting BBQ dishes is in the marinade. So how do you create the right
marinade for your grilling session?
More seasoned grilling chefs may have
their own blends and styles when it comes to marinating. However the basic
components of a good marinade consists of 3 core parts.
The first part contains an acid
component: lemon juice, lime, vinegar
The second part consists of an oil:
sesame oil, olive oil, corn oil, etc
The third part of a marinade consists of
seasoning: salt & pepper, onion, rosemary, cayenne, and others
By having your key ingredients in place
for all the different components of your marinade before hand, you will save
lots of trouble later on in digging for these ingredients as you are
grilling (which will leave many unhappy campers waiting on you).
By having a healthy mixture of all the
ingredients on hand, you will also have much greater flexibility in terms of
changing things up a bit in real time when you are actually doing the
grilling. Every one has different tastes and so with those various
ingredients on hand you can mix and match to your liking as long as those 3
components are fulfilled to some extent.
