Print Recipe
APPLE PIE

1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
1 teaspoon McCormick Ground Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Lemon Peel
1/8 teaspoon each McCormick Ground Allspice, Ground Cloves,
and Ground Nutmeg
6 medium-size apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
Pastry for 9 or 10-inch 1-crust pie

Preheat oven to 400 F. Line pie plate with pastry and set aside. Place sugar, flour, butter, and spices in medium-size bowl and mix until crumbly. Spread one-third of mixture over bottom of pastry-lined pie plate and arrange apples on top. Spoon remaining two-thirds of flour-sugar mixture evenly over apples. Bake in preheated 400 F oven 50 to 55 minutes.

Makes 9 or 10-inch pie
