Crockpot Picante Chicken Breasts
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 oz. pkg. of chicken taco seasoning
1 cup of picante sauce, choose hot or medium
1/2 cup of sour cream
Place chicken breasts in slow cooker and sprinkle with the
dry chicken taco seasoning. Mix soup and picante sauce
together and pour over chicken. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
Before serving, stir in sour cream. I suggest removing some
of the sauce/gravy mixture to mix with the sour cream before
stirring into the crockpot sauce. It seems to blend in
smoother. Serve with rice or noodles.
One can use the reduced fat mushroom soup and light sour
cream with good results. Sour cream tends to add a good
flavor and texture. Chicken taco seasoning is sufficient
seasoning for the chicken. Additional salt is not necessary.
