Lemon Sauce for Pound Cake
3 tbsp. margarine or butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. lemon peel
Cook margarine or butter, sugar, cornstarch and water in top of double
boiler until thick, stirring often. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice
and lemon peel. Serve warm sauce over each slice of cake.
