Green Tomato Casserole
Wash and slice green tomatoes. Layer them in a casserole dish and on each layer,
sprinkle salt, pepper, sugar and lemon peel. (May also use a prepared lemon
marinade spice.) Sprinkle bread or cracker crumbs on each layer and generously
on top layer. Dot top layer with pats of butter. Cook about 1 hour at 400
degrees.
