Homemade Tomato Sauce
1 chopped onion
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil
1 to 2 pound (3 ounce) can Italian style whole tomatoes and juice
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 teaspoon basil, crumbled
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of sugar
1 cup water
Saute onion, garlic, in oil until tender. Add tomatoes, juice, (break up
tomatoes), tomato paste, basil, salt, sugar, and water. Bring to boil, simmer
uncovered, stirring often. Cook for 30 minutes or until sauce thickens.
