For Dee in S. IL.
This is basically the "recipe" for the Oreo Lollipops. I found that the mint and
peanut butter Oreos work better than the double stuffed ones. I broke about 4 out
of 5 cookies when using the double stuffed Oreos. I was using lollipop sticks
that I purchases at my local cake and candy supply place. I don't know if
softening the cookies in a microwave first would help with the cookies
crumbling. That's why I am hoping that someone on this board might have a better
idea for a filling.
The biggest sellers at our bake sale were the mint Oreos dipped in white
chocolate and then sprinkled with crushed peppermints. For the peanut butter
ones we dipped them in white chocolate and sprinkled with finely chopped
peanuts.
We sold them for fifty cents each and we sold out of all of them within 2 hours
and we had over 100 of them.
Oreo? Party Pops
20 popsicle or lollipop sticks
20 Oreo Double Stuff? cookies
1 (12-ounce) package of semi-sweet chocolate chips (we used white chocolate)
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
Chopped nuts, colored sprinkles or miniature candies like M&M's? or Reese's
Pieces?
To form Oreo? Pops:
Insert popsicle sticks into the cream center of each cookie. Set aside.
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate and oil until melted and
smooth, stirring constantly.
Dip each cookie into the melted chocolate, coating evenly. Place dipped cookies
on waxed paper and decorate with chopped nuts, sprinkles or candies.
Leave cookies on waxed paper until completely set, then wrap in plastic wrap and
tie with a bow for gift-giving.
