Perfect Pie Crust Every Time
1 c flour, sifted
1/3 c shortening
1/2 t salt
2-3 T ice water
Cut shortening into flour and salt. When mixture has crumbs the size of small
peas, add
ice water and form into a ball. Roll out and then place in pie pan. Crimp edges.
If baking unfilled, poke with fork around bottom and sides before baking. I take
it out of the oven when the crust is just starting to brown, then pour in cooked
pudding and add meringue.
Pop it back into the oven to quick brown th topping. 400F if empty, but follow
recipe if filled. I also
